The Paper Dog

Monday

time for a change

Hi!  So happy that you popped in today.

I've got some crazy big news!

For about a week now, I've been busy creating a new blog.
I have been so inpsired by Kelly Rae Roberts and the amazing women
in the Flying Lessons group.  They have helped me to be brave and grow.

For the most part, the new blog will still have similar content
but let's just say it's a bit more grown up.
Just like my art, my blogging is evolving.

So without further delay...

I've already starting posting over there.
I'm hopeful that you will find it to be filled with
inspiration and much love.

My hope is that you enjoy it and visit often.

Friday

does your desk get this messy?

Happy Friday to you!
I'm super excited today because my Grandaughter is having
her very first sleepover tonight with us!
Should be super fun.
I need to go buy a couple new toys for her
and some more Golden Books to read.

OKAY.......so I know this looks really bad.
To think my workspace gets THIS bad after only one project.
I did a little house design over on the Eclectic Paperie blog today.
This is what remains on my desk.
YIKES....now to clean it up to make space for my next artsy moment.
Happy weekending filled with happiness to you!

Kindness Is Enough

Hi there and welcome.
I'm so happy you popped in!
I went off with a bunch of friends yesterday and got to play for
many, many hours yeterday and met some new friends.
Most were scrappers and card makers so I may have scared a few of them
with my mixed media creations but it's all good, because I had a fun!
Here's a girl I finished up.
I think she's kind of cute.
A cross between Christy's She Art Girls and Kelly Rae Roberts style.
Love them both dearly and I have so enjoyed their inspiration!

Punkin' Head

Hi there and thanks for popping in for a visit!

So last night I did something I so need to do way more often.  A friend came over for a artsy playdate with me.  We hung out in the studio, ate chocolate, listened to oldies,  had a few cocktails, got paint on our hands and giggled!

She brought over this cute little halloweeny resin statue.  I should have taken a picture of the little guy because he was cUte!  This is also inspired by Pumpkins & Cider.  One of the many course I'm taking at the moment.  We sketched our model out and started playing!
SEVEN hours later and this was the result:

What can I say...time flies when you're having fun.  And we did stop for dinner on the deck.  On my Punkin' Head's dress, I cut out letters from an old book.  It reads "Time for Trick-or-Treat".

Here are a couple close ups.  I do so love her face and her shoes.

Hope she brought a little smile to your face!

Friday

Take Flight

WOW!  I think I've lost my mind.  I have been super busy with some new courses that I started this week.  Not sure how far behind I am but I'm hoping to get a little caught up over the next couple days.  Today I had some time in the studio and played.  Got paint, ink and Mod Podge on my fingers.

This was inspired by a combination of ideas and thoughts.  I'm taking Kelly Rae Roberts course Taking Flight so naturally, I need some wings.  The little girl you see there is me when I was about 3 years old.  This is to remind me of the little girl I once was filled with wild abandon.  I found new adventures around every corner.  I climbed trees and swung in tire swings upside down, baked mud pies in the August sunshine and daydreamed a million dreams.  While I'm not sure my old body would do those things today, I do want to be brave, confident, creative and fearless.  So with a hopeful heart I am learning to practice bravery and courage.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for visiting!

Sunday

Bouquet of Flowers

Happy Day to you!

I am having fun in the studio today making a BIG, huge mess!  Today, I'm working on a service assignement with all the other Brave Girls from the Art School

I have visions of this packaged up pretty in a box with a big giant bow on it, waiting on their doorstep.  A simple little bouquet of flowers for a friend.
This still needs some finishing touches before that happens but figured
I'd show you my messy desk today.

Enjoy!
